Academic Programs

Institut Superieur Dale Kietzman offers a number of undergraduate degree programs, as well as graduate programs, all focused either in the area of Development studies, or in the area of Business Administration. These programs are described below, with a possible suggestion of courses to be taken. The description of these courses are given in the section entitled Listing of Courses.

All undergraduate programs must include 36 credit hours of General Studies, which are designed to give a broad basis of learning as a background for the specialization of the degree program. Many of these subjects may be taken elsewhere and transferred in to the program at ISDK. A limited amount of substitution may be allowed after consultation with the student’s Academic Advisor.

Degrees are available in the area of International Development in line with the mission of the University to serve both governmental and voluntary organizations involved in holistic development. Additionally, there are various other majors and courses in areas vital to holistic development, principally in Business and Management.

Our programs are offered as distance education and also as residential. Our method favors the formation of local study groups or cohorts consisting of up to ten students, coordinated by a local facilitator who is often the holder of a PhD degree and may be a professor at a local university or other educational program. Our primary target audience is in West and Central Africa, particularly the French speaking countries, but we may respond, on a more individual basis, to requests from other locations.

ISDK offers as its primary area of study, International Development. It also offers programs in Business and Management, since our development focus is job creation. The list of courses at the end of this catalog shows all offerings available in each subject area.
